Biography

 

Name:                                            Reinier Blaauw.

Born in:                                          Den Helder, 11th of June 1946.

Growing up in:                               Santpoort.

Living in:                                        IJmuiden.

Schooling:                                     High School, MTS Electronics, HTS Electronics and Management scienes.

Employed:                                     As a Technician and in different Management funtions in a technical environment.

Interest:                                          Gardening, walking, cycling, traveling around the world and painting.

 

Painting:

Fascinated by colors and color combinations that are related to nature.

Mostly abstract, by use of primary colors I try to create a tense image that will stay in your mind.

Also by means of color and composition I try to tickle the viewer’s fantasy.

I am self-taught man who has never lost contact with spatial expression, in spite of his technical schooling.

My subjects are very closely related to the environment that surrounds me and to which I am very much involved.

During my long walks, bicycle tours and traveling, that I do together with my wife, I find my inspiration.

I only use oil paints, mostly on linen, because I find that only these will give the right texture to my paintings.

Where necessary I make my own frames, because I believe that my paintings are shown off better with the type of frames I make.
